Hello all! Ok, job updates: I was called for a second interview for the cardiac recovery ICU job. Its on Monday at 9am! Yay!! Keep me in your prayers, please!
Wilson is doing wonderfully. His schedule is constantly in flux; I think he stands watch at a different time every day now. He is making good friends and really likes his boss. He hasn't really found any Christian friends on board. When I asked him about that, he said that he hadn't expected to find many Christians. I thought he would, especially among the officers, but I'm glad that he was prepared for what he did find.
Apparently they pulled into port somewhere and he had the chance to do a little shopping. He found this hand-carved lion in a market that he really liked (about the size of a chihuahua), and as any good haggler would, he immediately started looking at something else. After a few minutes he was deep into negotiations with the seller. As he told this story, he stopped here and said that he hates bargaining with people who don't have anything, because not only does he feel bad for them, they don't care if all you have is $10. They'll take your socks, your belt, your pocketknife, whatever! So, in the end, Wilson wound up with the lion for $10 and 2 ballpoint pens. =) Later on he spotted an entire hand-carved chess set, but instead of trying to haggle for it, Wilson sent his boss in after it. According to Wilson, his boss is great at "all this stuff". Yeah, he got Wilson the whole chess set for just $7. Haha, I guess we know who will be doing Wilson's shopping from now on!!
Life is going well for me, too. Last night I make Chicken Florentine Crepes with a friend and they were delicious!! I had never made crepes before, but I got the urge and wow, they are so easy!! I was shocked! We had a great time.
I just love hearing from y'all! Feel free to comment and let me know how things are going back home!
